Most car rental companies have an “empty policy”, whereby you pay the price and return it empty.
There is a 48-hour grace period to change your car rental reservation. After that, you can do so via email at getquote@drivebarbados.com. To change your reservation, please inform us of the following information:

Barbados’ average car rental price (like an economy hatchback Chevrolet spark) starts at \$70.00 per day, which may change based on the car category, booking dates, and hire duration.
Car rental requirements for renting a car in Barbados
Rental Car Age
Barbados requires 21 to rent cars, and you must have held your licence for two years. Rental age limits can differ from rental car company to company. Some rental car suppliers charge a young driver’s surcharge on any rental under 25, costing US$15-$25 daily. Renters over age 70 must require a medical certificate to qualify when registering for a rental car in Barbados.

Driver’s licence from the country of origin but not a copy (NO IDP is required). You can get a mandatory visitor’s permit to drive in Barbados. Two-month permit fees range from 10 BBD (5 USD) to 100 BBD (50 USD) for a one-year permit. These permits are available at most car rental agencies throughout the island.
